The Thai stock market continued to drop, but remained above 1,500 points. The SET index tumbled throughout the week in line with other regional stock markets amid concerns over the Fed’s tightening policy stance as the US non-farm payrolls in September came out higher than expected. In addition, investors were on a risk-off mode before a long holiday of the domestic market, the release of US inflation and FOMC minutes. For this week, the SET faced sell-offs mainly from foreign investors in various sectors especially finance, construction material and property.
On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the SET closed at 1,560.78 points, down 1.20% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB50,938.28 million, down 20.45% over-week. The mai closed at 631.31 points, down 1.64% over-week.
