F1’s shift towards ESG may boost Thailand’s tourism revenue by THB 7 billion (Current Issue No.3577)

Formula One (F1) is accelerating its commitment towards ESG, aiming to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030. Meanwhile, Thailand has submitted a proposal to host an F1 race.
If Thailand were to be selected as a host country, the event is expected to attract around 200,000–300,000 spectators, boosting annual GDP by approximately 0.04 percent, equivalent to 0.4 percent of the country’s tourism revenue. The investment is projected to break even within 3 to 4 years based on estimated tourists’ spending of around THB 7 billion during race week.
