Despite the successful US-China reciprocal tariff negotiation, China’s exports to the US in May 2025 continued to contract by 34.5% YoY (Business Brief No.4162 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • China’s export growth to ASEAN slowed to 14.8 percent YoY from 20.8 percent YoY in April 2025, causing China’s total exports in May 2025 to grow at a slower pace of 4.8 percent YoY.
  • Although the ASEAN market has helped cushion the contraction in China’s exports to the US, particularly in intermediate goods, China’s exports to ASEAN are likely to slow in the coming period.
  • Additionally, although the renewed trade war appears to be easing compared to early this year, tariff rates may remain higher than pre-Trump presidency levels. As a result, China’s exports in 2025 may grow at a slower pace than the previous year.
