China has a new plan to stimulate consumption through subsidized lending rates to mitigate the impact of the renewed trade war (Business Brief No.4185 Full Ed.)

  • Meanwhile, in 2H25, the budget for the trade-in program has decreased compared to 1H25.
  • Given this, the Chinese government recently announced a new plan to stimulate consumption through an “interest subsidy” measure to reduce borrowing costs for consumption and encourage increased spending.
  • However, this measure is expected to provide only limited positive impacts on spending, and the ongoing challenges in Chinese consumption may further pressure the number of Chinese tourist arrivals in Thailand.
