Thai exports performed better than expected during 5M25; full-year 2025 growth projected at 1.5% (Business Brief No.4164 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • Thailand’s exports jumped 18.4 percent YoY in May 2025, surpassing expectations. The surge was driven by increased shipments of computers and parts to the US and Chinese markets. Meanwhile, imports rose at a faster-than-expected pace, as well.
  • Preliminarily, KResearch forecasts that Thai exports in 2025 will post positive growth of around 1.5 percent YoY. However, a sharp contraction in shipments may be seen in the second half of the year.
  • If Thailand can reach a trade agreement with the US after July 9, and a 10-percent US tariff remains in effect, Thai exports are expected to grow higher than the baseline scenario by approximately 1 percent.
