Money alone may not be enough to reduce PM2.5 - Lessons from Singapore and Indonesia (Current Issue No.3546)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • Singapore has been struggling with toxic haze from forest burning in neighboring countries, which led to PM2.5 levels reaching 471 micrograms per cubic meter in 2013, surpassing the safe level determined by the World Health Organization (WHO). The Singaporean government has taken several measures to address this issue.
  • Thailand also faces a similar problem. Aside from  efforts to draft domestic laws, Thailand has arranged an international agreement, named the “Clear Sky Strategy 2024-2030,” between Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar to set targets for the reduction of PM2.5 pollution from industry, transportation, agriculture, and forest fires.
