Thai export growth in August 2025 slowed after the US enforced reciprocal tariffs (Business Brief No.4195 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • As anticipated, Thai exports in August 2025 grew at a slower pace, at 5.8 percent YoY. This was due to a slowdown in electronic goods exports, following a substantial front-loading of shipments in the previous period, and a contraction in agricultural exports.
  • Although Thai exports in the first eight months of 2025 expanded by 13.3 percent YoY, the remainder of the year is expected to see a significant contraction. For full-year 2025, KResearch maintains its projection for overall Thai export growth at 5.7 percent.
  • Additionally, it is necessary to monitor the outcome of the US Supreme Court’s consideration. If the court rules that President Trump exceeded his authority by imposing import tariffs under the IEEPA law, the reciprocal tariff increase could be repealed.
