The Baht hit a 6-month high before paring gains somewhat while the SET rose over-week

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
•    The Thai stock market rose amid purchases of domestic institutional investors.
The SET rose on the first trading day after the Songkran holiday in line with regional bourses, as the US announced an exempt of import tariffs on smartphones, computers and some other electronic devices including semiconductors from reciprocal tariffs. In addition, the SET was boosted by domestic institutional investors’ purchases, particular those of energy, construction material and real estate stocks.
Later, the SET moved within a narrow range due to the uncertainties surrounding trade wars before surging at the end of the week, mainly driven by purchases of technology stocks ahead of the release of quarterly performance results, and energy stocks on the back of rising global oil prices. This week, the banking sector underperformed relative to other sectors, as pressured by profit-taking in XD stocks and concerns about the overall performance for 1Q2025.
  • On Friday, April 18, 2025, the SET closed at 1,150.95 points, up 1.97% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB32,909.53 million, down 35.06% over-week. The mai closed at 252.17 points, up 8.53% over-week.
  • April 21-25, 2025, KSecurities expects the SET to have support at 1,140 and 1,120 points, but resistance at 1,170 and 1,195 points, respectively. KResearch advises investors to watch key factors, including Thailand’s March Exports, 1Q-2025 performance results of Thailand’s listed companies, trade talks between Thailand and US, trade conflicts between US and its trading partners, Fed officials’ remarks, and foreign fund flows. The US economic data that warrant close monitoring include April Manufacturing and Services PMI (Flash), March New Home Sales, Existing Home Sales and Durable Goods Orders, plus Weekly Jobless Claims. Close attention must also be paid to April Manufacturing and Services PMI (Flash) of Japan, Eurozone and UK.
