Songkran waste volume surges in Bangkok, with garbage collection fees set to increase this October
During 10–16 April 2025 (data as of 15 April 2025), the volume of municipal solid waste in Bangkok is forecasted to reach up to 70,000 tons, compared to 51,400 tons during the same period in 2024.
On 31 March 2025, the Royal Gazette announced the service fees for the management of sewage and solid waste under the Public Health Act B.E. 2568 (2025). This fee adjustment aims to encourage public participation in waste reduction and separation, while also aligning the fee structure in line with current circumstances and the actual costs of waste management.
