• The Thai stock market surged amid foreign investors’ purchases.
The SET Index dropped slightly early in the week in line with other regional bourses amid expectations that Kevin Warsh, who has been nominated as the next Fed Chair, may not rush to cut interest rates and is likely to ease policy gradually. However, the SET Index later rebounded amid foreign investor buying, led by ICT stocks (following better than expected 4Q-2025 earnings reports and the announcement of special dividend payment), as well as energy stocks, which benefited from rising global oil prices during the week due to heightened tensions between the US and Iran.
The SET Index later moved within a narrow range for a short period due to profit-taking in technology stocks, before rising again towards the end of the week. It reached its highest level in more than a year at 1,361.52 points, supported by foreign investor buying ahead of Thailand’s general election on Sunday, February 8.
• On Friday, February 6, 2025, the SET closed at 1,354.01 points, up 2.14 percent over-week. The average daily trading value was THB51,762.29 million, up 7.69 percent over-week. The mai closed at 208.55 points, down 0.35 percent over-week.
• February 9-13, 2026, KSecurities expects the SET to have support at 1,330 and 1,305 points, but resistance at 1,375 and 1,400 points, respectively. Other important overseas economic indicators to monitor include China’s January CPI and PPI, Japan’s January PPI and Eurozone’s GDP report for 4Q-2025.
