The SET Index retreated from early to mid-week due to a lack of new positive catalysts. As a result, investors took profits in stocks with company-specific factors, led by stocks of a major ICT company following reports that major shareholders planned to gradually sell their holdings, a major electronic components manufacturer amid concerns over volatility in AI-related stocks, plus a major airliner as creditors who had converted debt into equity were allowed to trade their shares. The SET Index briefly rebounded during the week following reports of negotiations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. However, uncertainty surrounding such issue limited the upside of the market, as investors closely awaited developments in the Middle East and US labor market figures later this week. On Friday, August 7, 2026, the SET closed at 1,612.00 points, down 0.72 percent over-week. The average daily trading value was THB78,030.47 million, down 19.16 percent over-week. The mai closed at 227.33 points, up 0.10 percent over-week. During August 10-14, 2026, KSecurities expects the SET to have support at 1,585 and 1,560 points, but resistance at 1,630 and 1,655 points, respectively.
