The SET dropped from the beginning of the week amid investors’ profit-taking due to the lack of new supporting factors and the public holiday during the week. Although the government announced new policies to be implemented next year, such positive factor had limited effect on the Thai stock market. Energy and refinery stocks dropped the most this week due to profit-taking and concerns about the risks that Thailand may face from the policies of US President-elect Donald Trump. The SET continued to drop until the end of the week in line with other regional bourses due to investors’ risk-off sentiment while waiting for the signals of monetary policies at home and abroad from the FOMC meeting and the BOT’s MPC meeting to be held next week. • On Friday, December 13, 2024, the SET closed at 1,431.67 points, down 1.40% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB38,475.83 million, down 6.00% over-week. The mai closed at 317.37 points, down 1.32% over-week. • December 16-20, 2024, KSecurities expects the SET to have support at 1,420 and 1,400 points, but resistance at 1,445 and 1,460 points, respectively.
