The Baht weakened while the SET rose over-week

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
•    The Thai stock market fluctuated before closing higher at the end of the week.
The SET Index declined early in the week due to continued selling pressure from foreign investors, led by banking, energy, and retail sectors. It later rebounded in line with other regional bourses after Iran eased restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz (although strict controls remained in place for vessels from the US, Israel, and their allies involved in the attacks on Iran). This prompted buying across various sectors, especially energy and petrochemicals.
The SET Index fell again afterward, in line with other bourses, as tensions in the Middle East remained unresolved, with reports of multiple attacks on energy facilities in the region. The market also faced pressure from the Federal Reserve’s signal of a slower pace of rate cuts. However, the SET Index surged towards the end of the week, likely supported by reports of Israeli Prime Minister’s statement that it would refrain from attacking Iran’s energy facilities, combined with greater clarity in domestic political developments.

•    On Friday, March 20, 2025, the SET closed at 1,432.99 points, up 1.68 percent over-week. The average daily trading value was THB64,480.02 million, down 8.96 percent over-week. The mai closed at 219.08 points, up 0.47 percent over-week.
•    During March 23-27, 2026, KSecurities expects the SET to have support at 1,415 and 1,400 points, but resistance at 1,445 and 1,460 points, respectively. KResearch advises investors to watch key factors, including Thailand’s February Exports, Middel East conflict, and foreign capital flows. US economic data that warrants close monitoring includes March Manufacturing and Services PMI (Flash), plus weekly jobless claims. Other important overseas economic indicators to monitor include Japan’s February CPI, March Manufacturing and Services PMI (Flash) of Japan, Eurozone and UK, plus China’s January-February Industrial Profits.
