The Baht pared gains later in the week while the SET rose over-week

        The Thai stock market continued to perform week over from that seen in the previous week. The SET index surged early in the week on the purchases of foreign investors amid expectations that the Fed would slow its interest rate hikes, as some Fed officials expressed concerns about the impact of the Fed’s aggressive rate hikes. Later, the SET dropped on the selling of banking stocks and those of a major electronics maker following the release of 3Q22 performance results. The SET surged again during the rest of the week, supported by purchases of energy, real estate and finance stocks, in contrast to the downward trends in other stock markets.    
        On Friday, October 28, 2022, the SET closed at 1,606.07 points, up 0.93% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB61,198.72 million, up 3.23% over-week. The mai closed at 642.56 points, down 0.42% over-week.
