• The Thai stock market surged early in the week before paring its gains during the remainder of the week.
The SET Index rose early in the week amid continued buying by foreign investors, led by financial and bank stocks, which were boosted by better-than-expected 2Q-2026 performance results from some of the earliest companies to announce their performance. The SET Index was also boosted by energy stocks benefiting from rising global oil prices due to heightened tensions in the Middle East.
After reaching a 3-year and 5-month high of 1,657.55 points, the SET Index fell sharply in the middle of the week amid selling pressure from domestic institutional investors, led by bank stocks that had already announced their 2Q-2026 earnings. However, the SET Index moved within a narrow range for the rest of the week. Although there was some buying support in bank stocks towards the end of the week, there was selling pressure of stocks in the electronic component manufacturer and energy sectors, while the situation in the Middle East remained tense.
• On Friday, July 24, 2026, the SET closed at 1,644.39 points, up 0.33 percent over-week. The average daily trading value was THB96,795.41 million, up 17.71 percent over-week. The mai closed at 227.13 points, down 0.96 percent over-week.
• During July 27-31, 2026, KSecurities expects the SET to have support at 1,620 and 1,600 points, but resistance at 1,650 and 1,660 points, respectively. KResearch advises investors to watch key factors, including FOMC meeting (July 28-29), 2Q-2026 performance results of Thai listed companies, developments in the Middle East, and foreign capital flows. US economic data that warrants close monitoring includes June Durable Goods Orders and PCE/Core PCE Price Index, GDP report for 2Q-2026, plus weekly jobless claims. Other important overseas economic indicators to monitor include Eurozone’s GDP report for 2Q-2026 and July CPI (Flash), the upcoming BOE and BOJ meetings, plus China’s June Industrial Profits and July Manufacturing and Services PMI.
