The Baht and the SET fell at the end of the week amid US-China tensions

​          The SET dropped at end of the week, ending at 1,324.40 points, down 0.31% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB53,927.45 million, down 12.32% over-week. The mai closed at 301.40 points, down 2.68% over-week.

            ​The SET dropped early the week on sell-offs of finance shares, after the reduction in interest rates on credit card loans and personal loans comes into effect. The SET rose later on in the week amid improvements in July Manufacturing PMI of many countries, plus hopes over a new round of US stimulus measures. However, the SET dropped during the rest of the week amid concerns over Thailand's economic outlook and the tensions between US and China, as US President Donald Trump has signed an order banning Chinese applications.​
