The Baht edged stronger, while the SET dropped on concerns over the COVID-19 situation


​​The SET dropped below 1,200 points, ending at 1,194.95 points, down 1.54% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB49,193.31 million, down 15.90% over-week. The mai closed at 309.56 points, up 0.34% over-week.

The SET dropped almost throughout the week in line with other regional stock markets amid concerns towards the COVID-19 situation (that caused some countries to resume lockdown measures and their moves would likely affect the global economic outlook) and the risk that US stimulus measures may not be issued before the US presidential election.  In addition, the SET was weighted down by concerns over the domestic political situation. Meanwhile, energy shares fell heavily in the week along with global oil prices.
