The Baht tumbled to a 4-month low while the SET rose over-week

คะแนนเฉลี่ย

The Thai stock rose over-week. The SET dropped briefly early in the week due to the sell-offs of banking stocks while waiting for the release of the latest banking performance, before surging during the rest of the week. The surge of the SET was in line with foreign net buying during the week, plus hopes towards further relaxation of COVID-19 containment measures to open up to foreign tourists, which spurred the purchase of stocks in various sectors. However, the gains of the SET were capped at the end of the week, after the Fed Chairman signaled to aggressively raise interest rates to curb inflation.
On Friday, April 22, 2022, the SET closed at 1,690.59 points, up 0.97% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB70,003.12 million, up 13.26% over-week. The mai closed at 688.90 points, up 5.07% over-week.
