The Baht weakened, while the SET fell below 1,500 points again

  • The SET index fell below 1,500 points, ending at 1,495.09 points, down 2.04% over-week, after hitting 1,476.89 points (the lowest point in more than three years) at the end of the week. The average daily trading value was THB60,424.88 million, up 12.06% over-week. The mai closed at 298.49 points, down 2.08% over-week.
  • The SET index dropped almost throughout the week amid concerns over Thailand's economic outlook, as NESDC revised downwards the country's GDP growth forecast for 2020 to 1.5-2.2%. In addition, lingering concerns over the economic impact from a larger spread of the COVID-19, which might require more time to control it, plus foreign investors' net selling positions also weighed on the SET.​
