The Baht rose slightly while the SET dropped below 1,500 points amid concerns towards the COVID-19 situation


The SET dropped early in the week in line with other regional stock markets amid concerns over the recovery of global economy from the COVID-19 pandemic. The SET then rose shortly later on due to the approval of domestic economic stimulus measures and the hopes for the US economic stimulus package. However, the Thai bourse dropped again around midweek on sell-offs of technology, energy and financial shares, due to the concerns over the prolonged and intense COVID-19 situation, plus news reports regarding the revision of free-float shares and the SET index calculation methodology.
