The Baht and the SET continued to rise from the previous week

The Thai stock market rebounded at the end of the week, allowing the SET to rise slightly over-week. The Thai bourse rose early in the week, supported by bank stocks on the news that the BOT may consider extending the regulations on selling NPA. However, the SET dropped later in line with other stock markets amid concerns towards the global economic outlook, before rising during the rest of the week after the FOMC minutes suggested the potential Fed Funds rate hikes, as expected by markets.     
Moreover, the Thai stock market was supported by foreign investors’ purchases of stocks in various sectors, especially the energy and financial sectors.
On Friday, May 27, 2022, the SET closed at 1,638.75 points, up 0.97% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB63,544.72 million, down 11.74% over-week. The mai closed at 639.94 points, up 2.28% over-week.
