The SET index recovered late in the week but lower than last week, ending at 1,662.10 points, down 0.79% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB37,105.89 million, that being 8.04% lower. The mai closed at 399.19 points, decreasing 2.15% over-week.
The SET index dropped over-week while foreign investors remained in net selling positions. It faced sell-offs almost throughout the week along with foreign stock markets amid concern about uncertainty of US-China trade talks. The lower-than-expected Thai GDP report for 3Q-18 also affected the market while energy shares were under further pressure due to the falling global oil prices. However, the SET index recovered late in the week boosted by news of the domestic election progress.
