The Baht weakened, while the SET dropped on fears of coronavirus outbreak.


​             The SET index fell below 1,600 points, ending at 1,569.55 points, down 1.93% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB63,395.11 million, up 0.97% over-week. The mai closed at 306.60 points, down 0.71% over-week.

              ​The SET index dropped early in the week on the sell-offs of banking shares due to weak earnings results of some banks. The SET index continuously dropped during the rest of the week amid concerns over the coronavirus outbreak in China, as the confirmed cases of infection outside of mainland China rose. In addition, concerns over the uncertainty of Thailand's budget bill for fiscal 2020 weighed on the Thai stock market throughout the week.
