Telecommunications System

คะแนนเฉลี่ย

- Telecommunications systems may be considered either as wired, for example, landline
telephone systems, telegraph and wired Internet, or as wireless, for example, mobile
telephone systems, satellite communications and wireless Internet.

- In 2011, there were about 6.66 million landline telephone numbers, falling 3.76 percent
from the previous year. Continual decline in the number of users may be caused by
mobile phone service that offers more convenience and lower service fees, such as fees
for calling other mobile numbers or for domestic long-distance calls. However, landline
telephone systems remain necessary for business undertakings and as an alternate
system for households. As for high-speed Internet on the landline system, the number of
registrations was approximately 3.79 million.

- There were 73.5 million mobile telephone numbers in 2011, representing a penetration
rate of 114.8 percent. As for the Internet on the mobile systems, the number of
registrations was 13.1 million.
