Overview

• Credit cards are provided by Thai banks, branches of foreign banks, and non-bank financial institutions. Non-bank financial institutions have the larger cardholder base, accounting for 49.3 percent of the total number of credit cards, followed by Thai banks at 40.8 percent, and branches of foreign banks at 9.9 percent.

• Credit cards issued by Thai banks account for 45.7 percent of total credit card expenditures, followed by cards issued by non-bank financial institutions at 37.1 percent, and branches of foreign banks at 17.2 percent.
