The 2010 FIFA World Cup tournamentis reaching the semi-finals and football fans are excitedly awaiting the last four teams to face off in intense matches that are scheduled to be broadcast at 01.30-3.30 a.m. on the coming days. As a result, it is expected that the consumption of food and beverages (F&B) by football viewers will increase at night, particularly during those matches.
KResearch has conducted a survey on the “World Cup 2010 Viewing Behavior of Bangkok Residents”, June 4-18, 2010, using a total sampling group of 552 respondents broadly categorized by age, on their differences in viewing and consumption behavior. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted to find out their behavior toward buying food and beverages,
Weexpect that the World Cup 2010 will help generate an additional THB1 billion in earnings for F&B businesses. Items that will benefit from this tournament would likely include snacks, instant food products (especially instant noodles), fast food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, plus supplementary food.
