Spending on education is projected to increase by only 2.3% as the economy has yet to fully recover amid high household expenditures (Current Issue No.3491)

• KResearch assesses that the amount of spending on children education by parents residing in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region during the new school year in 2024 may increase by only 2.3 percent or approximately THB29 billion over that surveyed during the same period of 2023.
• Looking ahead, it is expected that the amount of spending on education in Thailand will increase while issues related to education quality need to be addressed urgently. The government should place importance on tackling problems in the education system over the long term, such as developing curriculums in line with the prevailing business environment, upgrading the status of vocational schools and providing new knowledge to teaching personnel.
