The Thai stock market fluctuated continuously. The SET tumbled early in the week amid concerns over the global recession, spread of Omicron subvariants plus Thai inflation that continued to rise in June 2022. However, the SET recovered somewhat later in line with other regional stock markets, as falling global oil prices eased concerns about inflation somewhat. Banking and finance stocks were hit hard this week, while investors awaited 2Q-2022 earning results that are set to be gradually released next week.
On Friday, July 8, 2022, the SET closed at 1,557.87 points, down 0.94% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB65,010.48 million, up 9.62% over-week. The mai closed at 572.34 points, down 4.21% over-week.
