•    The Thai stock market dropped for two consecutive weeks despite foreign investors’ net buying.
The SET dropped early in the week due to concerns about Thailand’s economic outlook (NESDC revealed that the Thai economy in the first quarter of 2025 expanded by 3.1%, while the whole year GDP was revised down to 1.8%) before briefly rising on the purchases of banking stocks.
The SET tumbled again around midweek due to continued concerns over Thailand’s economic outlook as being pressured by the postponement of Digital Wallet stimulus scheme, plus domestic institutional investors’ sell-offs. In addition, the market sentiment was affected by regional bouses that tumbled along with US market as a tax bill pushed by the Trump administration could drive US debt higher. However, the SET recovered somewhat at the end of the week in line with other regional bourses.
