The Baht and the SET Index rebounded towards the end of the week, supported by hopes that the US and Iran are close to reaching a peace deal

•    The Thai stock market fluctuated but closed higher at the end of the week in line with other international bourses.
The SET Index declined early in the week amid selling pressure mainly from foreign investors, in line with other regional bourses, as investors were concerned that inflationary pressures from rising oil prices (due to the impact of the conflict in the Middle East) may lead central banks in various countries to consider increasing policy interest rates. This negative factor triggered widespread selling across all industry sectors.
The SET Index moved in a volatile range around midweek, influenced by the situation in the Middle East, before rebounding strongly towards the end of the week in line with international bourses. Supporting factors included reports that President Donald Trump announced the cancellation of plans to attack Iran (after previously stating that a severe attack would be carried out), as well as signals that the US and Iran were close to reaching an agreement.
•    On Friday, June 12, 2026, the SET closed at 1,592.41 points, up 0.62 percent over-week. The average daily trading value was THB62,378.89 million, down 25.36 percent over-week. The mai closed at 217.42 points, up 0.52 percent over-week.
•    During June 15-19, 2026, KSecurities expects the SET to have support at 1,560 and 1,550 points, but resistance at 1,610 and 1,625 points, respectively. KResearch advises investors to watch key factors, including FOMC meeting (June 16-17), developments in the Middle East, and foreign capital flows. US economic data that merits close watch includes May Industrial Production, Housing Starts, and Retail Sales, plus weekly jobless claims. Other important overseas economic indicators to monitor include Eurozone’s May Industrial Production and CPI, China’s May economic data such as Retail Sales, Industrial Production and Fixed Asset Investment, plus the upcoming BOJ and BOE meetings.
