  • The Thai stock market extended its loss from the previous week, despite recovering somewhat towards the end of the week.

The SET Index declined early in the week amid selling pressure from domestic institutional investors, in line with movements of international bourses. Market sentiment was weighed down by concerns over rising oil prices stemming from the prolonged and uncertain situation in the Middle East, which could add to inflationary pressures and influence the interest rate outlook going forward. Selling pressure was broad-based across all sectors, led by electronic component stocks, which faced additional pressure from declines in global technology shares, and banking stocks, as banks gradually announced their 3Q-2026 performance results.

The SET Index gradually recovered from midweek, supported by buying from foreign investors. Buying interest was particularly strong in banking stocks after banks completed their 3Q-2026 earnings announcements, as well as in tourism-related stocks following reports that the government might postpone its plan to impose an outbound travel tax. However, the upside became limited ahead of the long domestic market holiday.
  • On Thursday, October 22, 2026, the SET closed at 1,562.67 points, down 0.66 percent over-week. The average daily trading value was THB64,950.59 million, down 0.11 percent over-week. The mai closed at 219.71 points, down 0.46 percent over-week.
  • During October 26-30, 2026, KSecurities expects the SET to have support at 1,555 and 1,540 points, but resistance at 1,590 and 1,605 points, respectively. KResearch advises investors to watch key factors, including the BOT's MPC meeting (October 28), FOMC meeting (October 27-28), Thailand's September Exports, 3Q-2026 performance results of Thai listed companies, developments in the Middle East, and foreign capital flows. US economic data that warrants close monitoring includes September Durable Goods Orders, New Home Sales, Personal Income and Outlays, PCE/Core PCE Price Index, GDP report for 3Q-2026, plus weekly jobless claims. Other important overseas economic indicators to monitor include the upcoming meetings of ECB and BOJ, China's September Industrial Profits, plus Eurozone's GDP report for 3Q-2026.
