The Baht hit a 3-week high while the SET continued to rise on purchases of foreign investors


    The SET continued to rise from the previous week, ending at 1,641.73 points, up 1.45% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB77,852.28 million, up 9.19% over-week. The mai closed at 570.19 points, up 0.98% over-week.
    The SET fluctuated upwardly early to midweek while waiting for the FOMC meeting results. The SET was boosted by the relaxation of COVID-19 control measures for the upcoming New Year festival before dropping around midweek amid concerns over the study for the introduction of a transaction tax on securities trades by some entities in Thai stock market. However, the SET surged later in line with other stock markets after the FOMC meeting results came out in line with market expectations. The Thai bourse was also supported by the purchases of foreign investors, before paring some gains at the end of the week.
