The SET index dropped over-week, ending at 1,609.45 points, down 2.46% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB44,188.00 million, that being 2.28% lower. The mai closed at 384.24 points, decreasing 3.33% over-week.
The SET index faced institutional investor and foreign investor sell-offs almost throughout the week. The SET index fell sharply early in the week due to concerns about economic situation of core countries and trade tension between the US and China. Later, the SET index rebounded shortly as concerns over the said factors eased. However, it then fell again during the rest of the week, as PTTEP won Erawan and Bongkot petroleum blocks and offered a lower-than-expected gas price.
