The Baht and the SET rebounded as Middle East tensions faded


           The SET index fluctuated throughout the week, ending at 1,580.63 points, down 0.90% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB63,374.15 million, up 30.82% over-week. The mai closed at 303.75 points, down 2.51% over-week.

             ​​The SET index trended lower amid concerns over tensions between the US and tensions in the Middle East, as Iran fired missiles at American troops in Iraq in response to the killing of Iranian Major General in US airstrike. However, the SET pared losses somewhat at the end of the week as tensions in the Middle East cooled, after President Donald Trump said that the US may impose new economic sanctions on Iran without mentioning military actions.
