The Baht hit an over 4-month high while the SET dropped on concerns over a second wave of COVID-19 in US

  • The SET closed below 1,400 again, ending at 1,382.56 points, down 3.70% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB93,412.05 million, down 1.42% over-week. The mai closed at 294.55 points, up 0.02% over-week.
  • ​The SET experienced sell-offs after surging amid hopes over the gradual reopening of economies of many countries, in line with other foreign stock markets. In addition, Fed's gloomy outlook for the US economy and risk of a second wave of COVID-19 in the US also sparked sell-offs of stocks around the world, including Thai stocks at the end of the week. Banking and energy shares were among the largest decliners of the week while institutional investors were the largest seller.​
