The SET moved within a tight range early in the
week before surging during the rest of the week on purchases of foreign and
institutional investors in the banking, energy and real estate sectors. The
main supportive factors were hopes towards rapid vaccination rollout
domestically and the THB500 million loan decree to cope with COVID-19. In
addition, as expected by investors the Fed’s plan to continue its accommodative
monetary policy boosted the Thai stock market at the end of the week.
