The Baht hit a new 6-year high of THB30.16/USD, while the SET closed below 1,600 points.


​          The SET index closed below 1,600 points, ending at 1,593.28 points, the lowest level in 9 months, down 2.34% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB56,710.31 million, up 0.44% over-week. The mai closed at 326.21 points, down 3.13% over-week.

           ​The SET index dropped early in the week on weaker-than-expected Thailand's September exports before rebounding shortly in line with other regional markets amid optimism towards the US-China trade deal. However, the SET dropped again on sell-offs of banking stocks amid concerns over the industry outlook. Moreover, concerns over earnings outlook of other industries as well as Thailand's economic prospects also weighed on the index.
