The Thai stock market surged early in the week in line with other stock markets as the US PCE price index slowed down in April 2022, which partially eased concerns about the US inflation. In addition, the SET Index was supported by foreign investors’ continued purchases especially of energy stocks, which were boosted by rising global oil prices after the EU agreed on a ban of most Russian crude imports by the end of the year. However, the SET Index pared gains during the rest of the week in line with other stock markets due to the profit-taking amid concerns about the Fed’s tightening monetary policy.
On Thursday, June 2, 2022, the SET closed at 1,647.67 points, up 0.54% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB73,295.75 million, up 15.35% over-week. The mai closed at 631.46 points, down.1.33% over-week.
