The Baht weakened, while the SET dropped on the continued spread of coronavirus

            The SET index closed at 1,514.14 points, down 3.53% over-week, after hitting 1,507.36 points (its lowest in more than three years) during the week. The average daily trading value was THB62,116.33 million, down 2.02% over-week. The mai closed at 299.57 points, down 2.29% over-week.

              ​​The SET index dropped mainly on concerns towards two factors, the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, plus Thailand's economic slowdown amid many negative factors. The SET rebounded slightly around midweek as President Xi Jinping said China is confident in wining a battle against the coronavirus outbreak. However, the SET dropped again at the end of the week as investors were still worried about the situation. In addition, foreign investors remained in a net selling position.
