The EU has generated more electricity from wind and solar than from fossil fuels for the first time; however, accelerated investment in power grids is still needed, potentially creating opportunities for Thai industries.

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
In 2025, the EU generated more electricity from wind and solar than from fossil fuels for the first time, accounting for approximately 30.1% of total power generation. This reflects the rapid expansion of renewable energy across Europe.
However, the EU still needs to upgrade its power grid infrastructure, requiring accelerated investment of around EUR 584 billion by 2030 to accommodate the intermittency of renewable energy, particularly wind and solar power.
KResearch views that such investment is likely to boost demand for power system equipment, potentially creating opportunities for related Thai industries, such as power transformers (with Thai exports to the EU in 2024 valued at approximately USD 1,270.5 million) and electric wires and cables (approximately USD 100.7 million).
