FOMC meeting, September 16-17: Fed expected to cut its policy rate by 0.25% for the first time this year following weak job market report (Business Brief No.4193 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • At the FOMC meeting slated for September 16–17, 2025, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) is expected to lower its policy rate by 0.25 percent to 4.00–4.25 percent, as recent economic data indicates a notable slowdown in the labor market, while inflation remains at a manageable level.
  • KResearch anticipates that the Fed will cut the policy rate one more time at one of the two remaining meetings this year, in October or December. The easing cycle is likely to proceed at a gradual pace amid multiple challenges in balancing labor market risks with inflationary pressures stemming from the impact of US tariff hikes that will become more pronounced.
  • This meeting will also include the release of updated economic and inflation projections, along with the Dot Plot. The Fed may revise down its US economic growth forecast and raise its projected rate cuts in 2026 compared with the June assessment.
