Thailand’s inflation in 2025 turned negative for the first time in five years at (-)0.14% (Business Brief No.4230 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • Thailand’s headline inflation in December 2025 remained negative for the ninth consecutive month, but at a decelerated rate of (-)0.28 percent YoY, dragged down mainly by declining energy prices. Meanwhile, vegetable and fruit prices increased due to a low base effect. As a result, full-year 2025 headline inflation stood at (-)0.14 percent, in accordance with KResearch’s forecast, marking the first deflation in five years.
  • In 2026, Thailand’s headline inflation is expected to return to positive territory at 0.4 percent, as supply-side pressures are projected to ease. Additionally, core inflation is expected to remain positive, albeit at a decelerating rate.
  • Nevertheless, deflationary risks must still be closely monitored, as the share of items in the inflation basket experiencing price declines may continue to broaden.
