FOMC meeting, October 28–29: Fed cut its policy rate by 0.25%, as expected; another cut anticipated in December (Business Brief No.4208 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • At the FOMC meeting on October 28–29, 2025, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) voted 10–2 to lower the policy rate by 0.25 percent to 3.75–4.00 percent, in line with expectations. The Fed also signaled that it will halt quantitative tightening (QT) on December 1, 2025, after running QT continuously since 2022.
  • The Fed noted that the December rate cut remains highly uncertain, given inflation is still above the target and the government shutdown has led to a lack of key economic data. As a result, the Fed maintained a cautious stance and may slow the pace of easing to assess the effects of the previous two cuts.
  • KResearch maintains its view that the Fed will cut the policy rate by another 0.25 percent in December, as the US economy is expected to slow and inflation is unlikely to accelerate sharply. However, the timing of further rate cuts will largely depend on labor market and inflation data.
