Middle East tensions may push Thai export growth in 2026 below 1% (Business Brief No.4254 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • Thai exports in February 2026 grew by 9.9 percent YoY, slowing from the previous month’s robust growth of 24.4 percent YoY. This growth was supported by electronics exports, which continued to expand but at a slower pace, following the upcycle of products related to AI and data centers.
  • Furthermore, exports of Thai goods previously subject to US reciprocal tariffs slowed. However, following the US Supreme Court’s February 20 ruling to overturn these tariffs, some acceleration in exports of this group is expected despite lingering uncertainty surrounding US trade policy.
  • Prior to the onset of Middle East tensions, KResearch projected Thai export growth for 2026 at 1.6 percent. Nevertheless, there is now a risk that growth could fall below 1 percent, depending on the severity and duration of the conflict.
