The SET rose early in the week on hopes towards a
new COVID-19 antiviral drug, the COVID-19 situation at home that has become
more stable, plus purchases of energy shares in line with the rising global oil
prices. However, the SET dropped briefly around midweek on sell-offs of foreign
investors before surging again during the rest of the week in line with other foreign
stock markets as investors were less concerns somewhat about US debt ceiling.
In addition, the SET was supported by the purchases of foreign and
institutional investors.
