The SET index soared over-week, ending at 1,646.29 points, up 1.27% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB39,510.52 million, that being 2.02% lower. The mai closed at 365.37 points, decreasing 0.05% over-week.
The SET index dropped early in the week before surging during the rest of week. It was supported by energy shares after OPEC and its allies affirmed commitment to oil production cuts until the next meeting in June, although the meeting in April was canceled. In addition, Thai stock market (and foreign stock markets) was also supported by the signal of Fed’s no more interest rate increases in 2019, plus foreign and institutional investor purchases at the end of the week.
