Domestic car sales projected to reach 620,000 units in 2026 amid the growing number of Chinese car dealers while those of Japanese and Western brands decline (Current Issue No.3637 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • Domestic car sales in 2026 are projected to contract by 0.2 percent YoY to around 620,000 units. The main pressure comes from commercial vehicle sales, which are expected to fall 5 percent YoY. However, passenger car sales are forecast to grow 2 percent YoY, supported by the rapid expansion of BEV and PHEV sales, which are expected to rise 28 percent YoY to roughly 181,000 units.
  • The acceleration in BEV and PHEV sales is expected to drive the number of Chinese car dealers up by around 10 percent YoY, while Japanese and Western dealers are projected to decline by 4 percent YoY, in line with falling sales of ICE passenger cars and pickup trucks. Dealers with low market share are expected to be the most affected, with their numbers likely to drop by 10.8 percent YoY.
