Thai furniture exports may grow by 9.3% in 2025 due to the front-loading of shipments to the US before potentially contracting by 4.5% in 2026 (Current Issue No.3609)

  • The imposition of a 25-percent US import tariff on wooden furniture under Section 232 may further increase pressure on Thai furniture exports. While kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities are expected to remain competitive, upholstered wooden seating may risk losing market share in the US.
  • KResearch expects the total value of Thai furniture exports in 2025 to expand by 9.3 percent YoY. However, it is projected to contract by 4.5 percent in 2026 due to clearer impacts of US import tariffs and increased competition in both the US and other export markets.
