Direction of the Thai PCB industry under renewed trade wars and technological changes (Current Issue No.3588 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
•    Thailand is becoming an increasingly significant global printed circuit board (PCB) production base, with its manufacturing share expected to reach 4.7 percent of the world’s total by 2025. This growth is driven by the trends of reducing reliance on China and production relocation to ASEAN.
•    More PCB manufacturers, particularly those making advanced PCBs like high-density interconnect printed circuit boards (HDI PCBs), have invested in Thailand, with more than 10 projects established between 2023 and 2024. This expansion reflects the industry’s shift towards advanced technology.
•    Thailand’s PCB exports in 2025 are projected to grow by 3.9 percent, despite US tariff pressures. However, growth is expected to slow to 0.4 percent in 2H25, down sharply from 8.0 percent in 1H25 when there was a substantial front-loading of shipments to the US ahead of the Trump administration’s tariff hikes.
