The first quarter CLMV-EPI gives China the largest all around presence in the Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam subregion, with Thailand second and Japan third. Thailand came in first in tourism and second in trade, but lags farther behind in investment. Competition is intensifying in these countries as international interest in Indochina grows.
